Differences in Environment and Teaching Methods between Deaf and Hearing Schools 

About Me: 

I am currently a senior at the College of St. Catherine, majoring in Biology and minoring in American Sign Language (ASL).  I am hard of hearing, have Auditory Processing Disorder, and am involved in Deaf culture.  I use ASL interpreters in class and for larger group meetings and events, and prefer to use ASL with friends who sign.  However, I also communicate fine (well, mostly) through lipreading and speaking.  This works best in one-on-one situations and/or somewhere quiet.  I spent the spring 2007 semester at Gallaudet University, the college for the Deaf in Washington, DC.
